Ollie Tax ("we") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your personal data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Data We Collect
- Account Data: Name, email address, and password hash.
- Financial Data: Property addresses, rental income records, expense receipts, and bank transaction data you choose to import.
- Usage Data: Logs of how you use the dashboard and AI features.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide the Ollie service (tracking tax, generating reports).
- Process payments via our secure provider.
- Improve our AI models (anonymized data only).
- Send you transactional emails (password resets, subscription notices).
4. Data Sharing (Sub-Processors)
We do not sell your data. We share data only with trusted third-party infrastructure providers necessary to run the service:
- Stripe: For payment processing.
- OpenAI: For AI text analysis (receipts and chat). Data sent to OpenAI is not used to train their public models.
- Neon / Vercel: For database hosting and cloud infrastructure.
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under UK law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and data ("Right to be Forgotten").
- Export your data in a portable format.

6. Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for data in transit and encryption at rest for sensitive database fields. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure.
